Leeds Knights: Davey Lawrence takes on nationwide lead role for junior netminder coaching

LEEDS KNIGHTS assistant coach Davey Lawrence has been appointed technical director of the governing body’s Netminder Development Programme.

The 38-year-old (pictured) was originally a product of the Sheffield junior system and was back-up goalie at Sheffield Steelers between 2003-08 before spending playing for Telford Tigers and Basingstoke Bison in the EPL.

After a few years out of the game, Lawrence returned to help oversee the netminder coaching at Leeds Junior Knights in 2020.

After Ryan Aldridge was appointed Leeds Knights head coach, Lawrence helped with netminder coaching as well as jumping on the bench for Knights match-nights when his duties with the juniors allowed.
