Leeds Knights coach Ryan Aldridge keen to help Danny Harrison realise 'world of talent'
RYAN ALDRIDGE has made no secret of his intention to bring as much young talent as possible through the ranks at Leeds Knights.
Young forward Danny Harrison is among those teenagers currently near the top of that list, the 17-year-old having agreed another one-year deal with the club.
The Leeds-born right-hander came through the Bradford Bulldogs’ junior programme, like many before him at the Knights including current Knights’ team-mates Kieran Brown, Jordan Griffin, Harrison Walker and Daragh Spawforth.
But it was at Leeds where he made his senior debut, thrown into a midweek visit to Sheffield Steeldogs aged just 16 years and 16 days - at the time the youngest-ever to have played at NIHL National level.

Like many youngsters on Aldridge’s roster last season, Harrison blossomed, taking advantage of the ice-time that came his way to post five goals and three assists in 44 league, Cup and play-off appearances.
An injury sustained in the second play-off group game at Telford Tigers brought about an early end to his season - as well as denying him a chance to play for Great Britain Under-18s after being called up for the Division 2A World Championships in Romania - but Aldridge is clearly keen to help the youngster continue his development during the 2026-27 campaign.
“Danny is a very skilled young man with a great shot and he can create space for the players around him,” said Aldridge.
“He is in a key part of his development and he is becoming stronger and stronger.

“I am looking forward to watching and working with him again this year. He has a world of talent and that’s why it was key to have him back again.”
Harrison will again be on a two-way deal with Leeds Knights 2, enabling him to also gain valuable ice time in NIHL North One.
“I’m really happy to be signing back with the Knights for next season,” said Harrison. “The time I've spent here so far has been great, so I'm excited to get going again in September and build on last year.”
