Darts' Premier League misses its Leeds target - but arrows in on 2021

This year’s visit of Darts’ Unibet Premier League to Leeds has been cancelled, but the event will return to the city in 2021.

The tournament resumes in August with six nights played behind closed doors at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes.

Leeds’ First Direct Arena was initially due to host the Premier League on May 14.

That was postponed until August 27, but has now been called off with the action scheduled for that night moved to Milton Keynes.

A double-header in Rotterdam and league nights in Birmingham, Belfast and Berlin have also been abandoned.

The remaining four league nights in Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield are set to go ahead before the top four players contest the play-offs at The O2 in London on a revised date of October 22.

Ticket holders for Leeds - and the other cancelled venues - will have their tickets automatically transferred for the same seat at the 2021 event.

Refunds will be available through the box office where tickets were bought, before 5pm on Friday July 31.

The 2021 Premier League is due to begin on February 14 in Cardiff and will visit Leeds for night 15 on May 13.

Sheffield’s FlyDSA Arena will stage night 11 on April 15.
