What happened?

Leeds United travelled to Macclesfield Town in the first round of the League Cup of the 2007-08 campaign.

Summer signing David Prutton was handed his first opportunity by head coach Dennis Wise as he made his debut.

Prutton bagged an assist in the 1-0 win in Cheshire as Ian Westlake struck to secure passage into the hat for the next round.

The Leeds United midfielder would go on to become a cult hero at Elland Road as he warmed hearts with his Jesus-like appearance and humorous media interviews.

Prutton made 77 appearances for the club before his departure in 2010 after three years in West Yorkshire.
