The 34-year-old hasn’t played since limping off with a lower-body injury during the 4-1 win over Milton Keynes in Coventry two weeks ago.

A game-day decision will be made on whether Leeds-born D-man Bobby Streetly has recovered sufficiently from the upper-body injury that has kept him out since the 3-0 defeat at Telford in late November.

Scottish forward Connor Henderson is unavailable due to work commitments, meaning two-way winger Jordan Kelsall, who debuted in last week’s home opening loss to Sheffield Steeldogs after the Chiefs struck a deal with his parent club Nottingham Panthers, will get a more regular shift.

“We’re hopeful we can get Steve Duncombe back for the run-in down the stretch, but it’s just a bit of a waiting game to see how bad things are,” said player-coach Sam zajac.

“But I felt Steven Moore did really well there last week after throwing him in at the deep end and it gives us another left-handed option back there.

“Luckily it is only a one-game weekend that we’re only going to be without Connor, who has been really impressive since he came in, so it could have been a lot worse in that respect.”
