Your Leeds United views: Time to splash the cash for a midfielder and a striker

Chris Martin or Jordan Hugill, and Adam Clayton.

A quality striker is essential as we don’t really have one and a good midfielder.

Clayton and Ronaldo Vieira in midfield would be fantastic.

We might have about eight midfielders already but I don’t rate any of them apart from Vieira.

A striker and a midfielder as above would cost about £10m. Chris Wood and Charlie Taylor recouped about £22million.

It is good to plan for the future but we need to keep the fans who have taken the gate up to 33,000 from 17,000. Mr Radrizzani, it’s time to spend some cash.

Leeds need to buy/loan three to four players out of the Premier League, not Chris Martin and the likes, they need to sell/loan out players like Hadi Sacko, Stuart Dallas, Kalvin Phillips.

These guys are ordinary players they should be replaced by quality.

If it is possible send Pierre-Michel Lassoga back and free up some money to buy/loan three-four players of quality.

We have no chance of getting in the play-offs, let alone the top two with the squad we have. Leeds have been playing poorly for weeks now, even when winning, so a change is needed. The owner has a great chance of getting us into the Premier League, but no chance if he doesn’t spend.

Thomas Christianson will end up losing his job, because the Leeds fans won’t put up with things for much longer.

I think we all need to take a reality check.

Yes, we have been badly run and out of the Premier League for a number of years. We are not the big attraction we used to be. Players have the power to pick and choose who they play for and money talks.

We should at least be grateful we have a seemingly stable owner for a change. Give him a chance to get his ideas and plans into action. He inherited a mess of a club and then bought the ground back. No doubt it was a bigger mess than we realised. It’s his first season in control and Rome wasn’t built in a day. Thomas Christiansen is in his infancy in English football. He will have learned a lot already this season which can only stand us in good stead for next season. Let’s stop being negative and try and be optimistic.

Yes, the team lacks quality, that much has been obvious since the end of September.

It lacks the quality to get automatic promotion and it lacks the quality to finish in the top six but it’s okay for a mid-table finish, we might even end up seventh again!

But there is quality lacking all over the field – it needs more than one or two more additions. Probably at least six improved quality additions are required to get us promoted – that’s probably too much to expect for this January.

But just getting one or two in are steps in the right direction but they have to be the right players, not just short-term gambles. I hope Laurens De Bock turns out okay. Time will tell.

What this club needs now is proven, quality players who can come in and do a job straight away and make a big difference to the team. That will cost far more than Andrea Radrizzani is prepared to spend. At least half of the current first team are not good enough and will need replacing at some period.

The problem is when promotion is not achieved the best players such as Pontus Jansson and Samuel Saiz will be picked off once again and the club will revert back to square one and try to replace them with untried and untested players who are not up to the job. It just becomes a vicious circle until the powers that be realise that until we build a core of a team and can keep it together, promotion is a pipedream.

The fans are divided because some have settled for stability. I can understand this because of the way we have been run over the last 15/16 years.

However, we have a fantastic opportunity now to challenge for promotion if we invest in the right players. Some people have mentioned five to six players but I would say two-three. A striker who can hold the ball and get behind the defence, a wide midfielder who can actually go past a full-back and a dominating experienced midfielder.

This would cost £10million plus and they have to be Championship ready.

How we attract 30,000 fans plus lately with the quality of football we’re producing just shows what fantastic fanatical support this club has.

The teams at the bottom of the Premier League will come down and immediately be ready to go straight back up, so we will not have a better opportunity.

We as supporters need to stick together. It’s great being well run but remember we could be well run for another 10 years and not get promoted but still make a great profit for our owners.
