Your Leeds United views: Newcastle media reaction echoes Old Trafford antics

The visit of Newcastle United to Elland Road has been dominating debate among the faithful.

I FIND it very interesting that the Newcastle media is running stories of (Leeds United head coach) Garry Monk wanting the Newcastle job and NUFC wanting two of our players.

These are like the stories that come out of M*n Utd when Fergie or Mourinho are wary of their next opponents!

Toon in a ‘league of their own’

IT’S a really difficult game, coming up.

Newcastle are in a league on their own and probably the best team this league has seen for years, helped in a big way by money from the Premier League. Having said that, we (Leeds United) will have a full house, atmosphere, confidence and a manager who can get the best out the lads.

Maybe we’ll sneak a win, but even if we lose, it won’t be the end of the world.

Atmosphere will be electric

I THINK the atmostphere on Sunday – Leeds United v Newcastle United – will be electric and intense.

It will be like going back to the 80s before all-seater grounds became compulsory, when Elland Road did not need a sell-out crowd for it to rock.

Many fans will not have experienced anything like it.

A tribute to Gary Speed would be most fitting between probably the two most fanatical sets of fans in the country.

And, of course,, and two clubs he represented with distinction.

Injury situation is ‘a little scary’

It’s arguable that Liam Bridcutt would oust Eunan O’Kane from our midfield if both where fit, but I agree, the situation with both is a little scary when approaching a game like this (Leeds United v Newcastle United).

I think its brilliant that we’re discussing international player issues and shows what a fine group of players we have just now. I hope at least one of the two is ready for Sunday. If not, as Garry Monk and (YEP columnist) Noel Whelan say, we have to put faith in the squad.

I’m absolutely sure whatever happens we’ll see a committed performance from ALL the lads.

Let’s not underestimate them. I get the distinct impression that NUFC and Rafa Benitez are doing just that. Complacency is a very dangerous thing Tooneys!

It’s going to be an amazing occasion and, if he was still here, Speedo would love this fixture.

I’m going for a battling, gritty 3-2 win a-la Norwich.

RIP Gary Speed. MOT and respect to Newcastle in advance.

Magpies are too good for Leeds

I just think we (Newcastle) have got too much for Leeds United.

It should be a cracking atmosphere, though, and I’m sure both lots of fans will pay a huge tribute to Gary Speed.

Prediction: Gayle to score and Mitro to come on second half and grab one (seven in the last six games), oh, and 3-1 to Toon.
