Your Leeds United views: It's high time that the Whites dropped Bailey Peacock-Farrell

He looks shaky, does not inspire confidence in the back four, lacks urgency and appears to have a distinct lack of coordination in reading the flight of balls in mid-air.

Can you remember, early in the season in the televised game with Derby County he flapped at the ball from a 30-yard free-kick and let it slip through his fingers. Then the Birmingham City match where we dominated the game and his howlers cost us dearly.

Finally, the West Brom match last weekend – he let the ball go through his fingers again for the second goal.

He appears to switch off in matches and that is where the problem lies. We dominate games so much with possession as high as 70 per cent so naturally he falls asleep – so when asked to do something he struggles and it is ultimately costing us matches.

He needs to be dropped as soon as possible to make way for Jamal Blackman and if the loanee puts in some half decent displays, I can’t see Peacock-Farrell winning his place back.

To be honest it wasn’t even pretty football at West Brom on Saturday.

It was lax, careless and in places aimless.

The number of passes that went out of play or to the opposition or just out of play was ridiculous.

Poor choices were made all over the field and nobody took responsibility for changing it. We rely a lot on Pablo Hernandez and with him so off-colour we had no plan B to fall back on.

No matter how Marcelo Bielsa sets us up you cannot account for players failing to do the basics. Making sure passes reach their man. Choosing the right pass. Keeping shape when out of possession and winning the ball back. Tracking back and defending in numbers. Fast, incisive play.

These were all things we have done many times this season but there wasn’t a hint of any of it at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

We have to remember that we have a pretty average squad and Marcelo Bielsa has done well to get us where we are.

He is like an artist who has been handed a brush with no bristles and been asked to paint a masterpiece.

We have somehow managed to keep challenging up and around the summit of the Championship despite dropping points and dealing with an ever-worrying injury list.

However, I feel the luck is going to run out, and it wouldn’t take too many bad results to see us drop out of the play-offs. January will be the biggest indicator of whether the club are serious about promotion or not – the dealings we’ve made in the winter window over the the last few years have failed to ignite any promotion push. Hopefully this time won’t be another lost opportunity like with Simon Grayson and Garry Monk.

Stuart Dallas (once again) cost us for the all important first goal against West Brom on Saturday. He was caught out of position and left Pontus Jansson exposed.

When will fellow Leeds fans finally acknowledge that this guy is simply not up to it?

As for Gjanni Alioski – he has been a passenger in this team for most of the season. He is another who is simply not good enough. And as for Marcelo Bielsa saying we don’t need strengthening in January, well, I’m sorry, but on this occasion, he is wrong. All the big hitters in this league will definitely strengthen in January.

This team isn’t good enough to get automatic promotion, despite some of the nicest football I’ve seen us play for many years.
