Harrison played for the Manhattan Soccer Club academy and college side Wake Forest Demon Deacons where he scored eight goals in 22 appearances for the university. He was then entered into the MLS SuperDraft in 2016 aged 18 and was selected as the number one overall pick by the Chicago Fire before being immediately traded to New York City FC.

He made his debut for NYCFC three months later as a substitute in a 7-0 defeat to rivals New York Red Bulls after a fractured pelvic bone left him sidelined. Harrison went on to impress during his two-year stay in New York making 56 MLS appearances scoring 14 goals in the process.

He made history by becoming the first teenager to score for the club and also helped NYCFC record their first ever victory in the Hudson River Derby putting in a man of the match display against the Red Bulls. Harrison was also nominated for both the MLS Rookie of the Year award and MLS Goal of the Year Award in his debut season.

He continued to impress in 2017 helping the club secure their first away win at the Red Bull Arena in which he scored the opening goal in a 2-0 win. In January 2018 Harrison signed for partner club Manchester City signing a contract until 2021.

The 21-year-old was immediately loaned out to Championship side Middlesbrough but failed to make a major impression on Teesside making just four substitute appearances for Tony Pulis' side.

Harrison has featured heavily for Manchester City during the build-up to the 2018/19 Premier League campaign having impressed boss Pep Guardiola. Anything else we should know?

Former NYCFC team-mates Andrea Pirlo and Frank Lampard both believe Harrison is destined for great things in the game with the Italian saying: "He is very young, he’s fast and he is capable of playing in Europe. He’s a good player."

Lampard also added to those comments: "I think there are a lot of big things to come from Jack. I like him, he's a great lad, great ability."

New York City FC attempted to claim Harrison as a home grown player ahead of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft which would have allowed them to secure him beforehand but the request was turned down by the league.
