It couldn’t be tighter at the top following the latest round of top-flight matches, and there’s been movement at the other end of the table to boot.

Table-topping Field remain unbeaten after seven outings this season but dropped their first points of the campaign at spirited Boroughbridge who reside on the ninth rung of the league ladder.

The second-placed team are also unbeaten in seven and, thus, have attained and equal number of points as Field but hopes of taking over at the top were derailed by stubborn hosts Beeston St Anthony’s.

The oft-times fractious encounter - eight yellow cards were distributed among the teams - ended goalless with the fifht-placed hosts also being reduced to 10 men.

Fourth-placed Hall Green United played out a humdinger at Carlton Athletic, the team placed one position higher than the visitors on the ladder.

United held a 2-1 advantage at half-time but had to play out the last 20 minutes with 10 men so will harbour mixed feelings about the outcome.

Jamie Miller netted twice for Hall Green.

Hunslet fired off a signal of intent with their 3-0 win at fellow mid-tablers Headingley.

Samuel Kyeremeh, Omri Linfoot and Nathan Owen scored the goals for a Hunslet side with obvious higher-placed ambitions.

James Purkis was on target for second-bottom Knaresborough Town but the travellers’ efforts weren’t enough to knock resurgent Huddersfield Amateur off their stride.

Huddersfield, not too long ago, were languishing at the foot of the elite table with seemingly only one direction in line for them come season’s end. But a good recent run of results, including this 3-2 success, suggests Huddersfield Amateur could move into mid-table safety - and sometime soon.

Ten-and-12th-placed sides Robin Hood Athletic and Whitkirk Wanderers played out a 1-1 draw, with Joseph Clulow netting for the hosts.

In Division One, eighth-placed Kirk Deighton Rangers hit eight past hosts Featherstone Colliery without reply.

Colliery - currently third-bottom - were walking a tight line as a team almost thoughout after picking up four yellow cards.

Rangers kept a cleansheet in that respect as well as the end result.

Ramon Neal led the goalscoring with four, while Jacob Little, George Widdows and substitute Dominic Walton bagged one apiece.

Second-placed Salts missed out on a chance to go top with leaders Rawdon Old Boys being without a game as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Otley Town.

Not only were they pipped by Sports, 4-3, but Jamal Hanson hit a hat-trick but finished on the losing side and the team missed a terrific opportunity to go top of the table since leaders, Kellingley Welfare, were without a game.

Laund Hill remain second, however, with Brighouse secure in fourth thanks to Saturday’s goals from Luke Cranswick, Billy Farrell (2) and Thomas Robinson. Third-placed Ripon City were too strong for second-bottom Harrogate Railway Athletic.
