West Yorkshire League - Front-running Rawdon find their goalscoring range against Kirk Deighton

Division 1 leaders Rawdon Old Boys made light work of third-placed visitors Kirk Deighton Rangers.

It finished 5-1 to the hosts thanks to goals from Elliot James Goldthorp, Lewis Nightingale and substitute Craig Nichols. Roman Neal netted in reply.

Rawdon are three points clear at the top after second-placed G&C Hartshead were held to a 3-3 draw by Salts, who sit fourth.

Both sides ended the afternoon down to 10 players while goals were scored by Joel Farrer, Nathan Foster and Tom Smith for the hosts, and Luke Rhodes and Harry Warren (2) for Rangers.

Goals from Harry Hawkins and sub’ Nicholas McNally were enough to give Otley Town a 2-0 win at Shelley, while eighth and ninth Wyke Wanderers and Wetherby Athletic couldn’t be separated. Their encounter finished one apiece with respective goals from Barney Wragg and Joshua Wilson.

In the top flight Premier, only three fixtures survived the mid-May monsoon.

Pacesetters Beeston St Anthony’s were in decent goal-getting form but needed a couple of strikes from Barrie Frankland, who came off the bench to net twice, to make the result at mid-table Robin Hood Athletic more comfortable.

Eighth overcame seventh when Huddersfield Amateur struck 2-1 at Headingley AFC. Mikkel Mortenson was the scorer for Headingley.

Jamie Miller got on the scoresheet for hosts Hall Green United after 55 minutes but two Gibril Bojang goals were enough to give visiting Horbury Town the spoils. The sides side third and fourth in the table.
