The Whites secured Toumani Diagouraga without much speculation last Friday.

Evans said: “The wonderful thing is nobody knew about it, and one or two we are working hard to get, nobody knew about them either, so that’s good we are managing to keep them in house. In the past everyone knew what was happening at Leeds but this is the way we want to go about it.”

Rotherham United are set to lose assistant manager Eric Black to Aston Villa according to the Telegraph. Black is regarded as a highly talented coach and was previously in charge of both Motherwell and Coventry.

Both Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds have been handed a boost in their chase for Aiden McGeady. The two clubs have been linked with a loan move for McGeady by the Liverpool Echo, and now Roberto Martinez has said he can leave for the right “football proposition”.

Martinez said: “At the moment, there are a few options, but there has been nothing concluded about the football challenge ahead.

“The most important aspect is what we are going to get from Aiden going away and playing football and in what sort of environment, everything else can be arranged.

“But it is the football proposition that Aiden is going to be involved in over the next four months is what concerns the player and myself.”

Chelsea will listen to an offer from Hull City for Patrick Bamford, according to the Daily Mirror. Bamford returned to Stamford Bridge after an unsuccessful loan spell at Crystal Palace.
