The Elland Road club will play the A-League side in Sydney on July 20, three days after their marquee friendly against old rivals Manchester United.

Leeds and Manchester United have agreed to meet in Perth on July 17 in the first clash between the clubs since 2011.

The fixture is the highlight of an extended pre-season training camp which Leeds are putting in place ahead of the start of the 2019-20 campaign.

Leeds will then move on to Eastern Australia to play Western Sydney Wanderers in a game which will mark the opening of Wanderers’ new stadium in Parramatta.

United are considering adding a third fixture to their schedule as they plan for a first visit to Australia since Terry Venables took the club’s squad there in 2002.

Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa said: “I’m pleased we have been given the opportunity to take the team over the Australia to help us prepare for the 2019-20 season.

“To play in the first international sporting event at the new Western Sydney Stadium will be an honour and we are all looking forward to the occasion.”
