Fans have barely caught their breath following the end of the 2019/20 season but the beginning of the new Premier League campaign is just around the corner.

The majority of players will experience just a short break before they return to their respective training centres and prepare for another season of fast and furious Premier League football.

Teams participating in the closing stages of the Champions League and Europa League will be afforded an even shorter break.

Fans of all 20 Premier League teams, including newly promoted Leeds United and West Brom, will already be dreaming of their club improving on their previous season’s efforts.

The 2020/21 season gets underway a month later than usual, on September 12.

Plans for the new season are underway, but it is expected that league organisers will take their time on decision making.

And fans may be waiting for a while yet for details of their clubs fixtures.

According to multiple reports fixtures won’t be revealed until August 21, nine days prior to the Community Shield.

Will teams participating in Europe start later?

The start date for teams competing in Europe remains under discussion.

For now it’s uncertain whether teams that progress through Europe will be able to start their league campaign at a later date.

The finals for the Champions League and Europa League take place on August 23 and August 21 respectively.
