Manchester City v Everton: Latest Capital Cup team news UPDATED

Everton captain Phil Jagielka returns for the crucial Capital One Cup semi-final second leg at Manchester City having been rested at the weekend.

Midfielder Muhamed Besic (hamstring) and forward Kevin Mirallas (tendon) have been ruled out while Joel Robles will replace Tim Howard in goal.

Right-back Seamus Coleman is set to start, having returned from injury as a substitute at the weekend, while a late decision will be made on whether midfielder James McCarthy makes his long-awaited comeback from a groin problem.

Willy Caballero will take over in goal for Manchester City as they host Everton in the second leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final bidding to overturn a 2-1 deficit.

Caballero has been preferred to England number one Joe Hart in all domestic knockout games this season and is also likely to start Saturday’s FA Cup fourth-round tie at Aston Villa.

City remain without captain Vincent Kompany (calf), centre-back Eliaquim Mangala (hamstring), left-back Aleksandar Kolarov (calf), striker Wilfried Bony (calf) and playmaker Samir Nasri (hamstring).
