Young Leeds United trio handed England call-up for Three Lions training camp

The Whites will have representation at St George's Park next week.

Leeds United young trio Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Charlie Cresswell have been called up by England.

The Whites Under-23s starlets will link up with the Three Lions Under-19s squad next week for a training camp at St. George’s Park during the upcoming international break.

Head coach Ian Foster was initially preparing his squad for a number of European Championship qualifiers.

UEFA, though, cancelled all of their youth tournaments earlier this year amid the Covid-19 pandemic but England will still link up at the Three Lions headquarters in Burton.

Gelhardt and Greenwood have been in fine form for Mark Jackson's development squad this season following their summer arrivals to Thorp Arch.

The former has eight goals in 14 outings this term while the latter has seven from the same amount of games in Premier League 2.

Cresswell is another who has impressed having been handed the captains armband in central defence, making 18 appearances and scoring twice.

All three will now link with the England between Tuesday 23 and Saturday 27 March.
