Wednesday evening's League One visitors Hull can be backed at 8-1 to triumph inside 90 minutes at Elland Road and 4-1 to force a penalty shoot-out via a draw.

The Tigers are 5-1 to progress either way with Marcelo Bielsa's Premier League hosts no bigger than 1-5 to book a third-round date at West Ham United after the Hammers overcame visiting Charlton Athletic in a 3-0 victory on Tuesday night.

A 2-0 Whites win is rated the most likely score at 6-1 and even a 1-0 triumph for Grant McCann's Tigers is as big as 25-1.

And perhaps the most intriguing feature of the first goalscorer markeT is the prominence of 18-year-old summer recruit Gelhardt who is joint-third favourite to open the scoring at 9-2.

Forward Gelhardt, recruited from Wigan Athletic, did not make the match-day 18 for Saturday's Premier League opener at Liverpool but the teen then played the full 90 minutes for United's under-23s in their 4-0 loss at Stoke City on Monday night.

And SkyBet clearly expect Gelhardt to feature against the Tigers given the likelihood of head coach Bielsa making plenty of changes for the Carabao Cup tie.

Whites no 9 Patrick Bamford still heads the first scorer market but at a bigger price than normal at 7-2 with club record signing Rodrigo the same odds.

Rodrigo was introduced as a 62nd-minute substitute for Bamford at Anfield and must have every chance of bagging a first Whites start.

In the first scorer market, Pablo Hernandez is then the same price as Gelhardt at 9-2 with Tyler Roberts 5s followed by Helder Costa who is 13-2 and the same price as another youngster expected to be handed a prominent role in Ian Poveda.

Similar comments apply to young Pole Mateusz Bogusz who is only 7s to net first.

Josh Magennis is rated the biggest Hull threat but still as big as 9-1 to score first followed Keane-Lewis Potter at 10s.

Thomas Mayer, James Berry and James Scott are all 11s with former Whites forward Mallik Wilks 12s and another ex-White in Lewie Coyle 125s and 40-1 to net any time at all.

It's a one-sided market and even with the prospect of plenty of changes, one-way traffic is envisaged with a particular trio of Whites youngsters clearly fancied to shine.
