Rodrigo believes Leeds United's biggest quality is their collective strength with Marcelo Bielsa's side made up of hard workers over big name 'stars'.

The 29-year-old was the club's headline capture this past summer with the Whites breaking their long-standing transfer record to land the forward in the wake of promotion to the top flight.

Rodrigo made the move from Valencia to Elland Road in a deal worth £29m plus add ons and has adapted to life quickly in West Yorkshire.

Many tipped the Spain international to replace Patrick Bamford as Bielsa's leading marksman, but the form of United's number nine has seen Rodrigo utilised in an attacking midfield role instead.

Bamford has six goals in six games this term - including a hat-trick against Aston Villa last week - and has struck up a good partnership with the former Real Madrid man so far.

Rodrigo, though, has praised the early season contribution from his new strike partner and believes the collective effort of the squad is its biggest strength.

"I think Patrick has had a very good start to the season," he said.

"He's scored a lot of goals and been an important player for us. I think we have improved our game together.

"I think the better strength of this team is the group. We don't have stars in the team but we play very well together. We feel that is our best strength.

"We have very good players. We have Pablo, Tyler and Raphinha now too who arrived late. It's important to have the internal competition between us all.

"I want to work hard and play every game to try and help the team."

The Whites entertain Leicester City in LS11 on Monday night in Premier League action, and confidence is high after a 3-0 win over Aston Villa last week.

"We knew that Aston Villa was living a great moment, playing good football," Rodrigo continued.

"We are a team who want to go for the game and don't wait for the result. I think we dominated the game from the start until the end.

"It was a great performance from us. It gives us a lot of confidence for the next games."
