Spanish international forward Rodrigo scored his fourth goal for the Whites and first since December after coming off the bench for Patrick Bamford in the 79th minute.

Bamford had earlier put Leeds 2-1 up after Heung-Min Son's equaliser to a Stuart Dallas opener but Leeds would not be denied as Marcelo Bielsa's Whites moved ninth in the Premier League table.

Rodrigo has had a series of injuries since joining Leeds and also had to recover from coronavirus but he took to Instagram after the Spurs success to say: "Great team win! Very happy to see the net again!!! We keep working."

The contest also saw both Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha return from recent injuries as second half substitutes.

"It's great to be back" posted Raphinha.

Whites keeper Illan Meslier also hailed the efforts of his side, saying: "What a win, so proud of everyone!"

And United's German international Robin Koch opted for something a bit different, maybe releasing his inner Eddie Nketiah, as he posted: "Who you gonna call? LEEDS UNITED!"
