The Whites are looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League, having been beaten 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Leeds have won just twice this season - a run of form which leaves them in 17th in the standings and just two points above the top flight drop zone.

Bielsa, though, has had a number of injuries to contend with in recent months and his issues failed to ease in the capital.

Key winger Raphinha and forward Rodrigo were the latest to join the absentee list after the pair were late omissions against Antonio Conte's Spurs side.

Brighton, meanwhile, haven't won in seven games themselves though are sat firmly in ninth place after a strong start to the season.

Here, we take a look at those with worries ahead of Saturday night's top flight meeting on the south coast before Bielsa gives a more definitive update later in the week:

Patrick Bamford - ankle

It has been a frustrating period for last season's top goalscorer.

Bamford picked up a knock to his ankle against Newcastle in mid-September and hasn't been seen since.

Initial thoughts were that it was going to be a short recovery but after ligament damage emerged it has taken it's time to heal.

There was still no return date set by Bielsa in his most recent update.

Injured in the same outing as Bamford in what was a major double blow against the Magpies.

Ayling was forced to undergo minor surgery on his knee and has now been spotted back out on the training pitch with the Whites.

Leeds have missed his presence on the right side of defence. Bielsa was similarly coy over his step back towards first team football though was positive over his return to training.

Raphinha - illness

A surprise name that was missing from the team sheet at Tottenham.

His exploits with Brazil over the international break appear to have led him to an illness.

Fingers crossed he can shake it off for this weekend's game at Brighton as Leeds missed his craft in the capital.

Rodrigo - foot

A first Spain call for a year led to a minor foot problem, as described by Leeds.

It felt like he was just coming into some strong form in Bamford's absence though he was covered well by Joe Gelhardt on Sunday.

Bielsa, again, will give a more definite update surrounding his fitness in his pre-match press conference later in the week.

Another thing to watch for, it's not yet an issue for Leeds but it might well be one ahead of the forthcoming games.

Rodrigo picked up his fourth yellow card of the season at Norwich last month which leaves him on the brink of a one-match ban in the top flight.

If any player picks up five yellow cards in the Premier League before the reset deadline of December 28 - after the 19th match of the season - they will be forced to sit out for a single game.

Jamie Shackleton - leg

Limped off against Norwich City last month after battling a hamstring and thigh issue.

He hasn't been since Carrow Road, which will be of huge frustration to him having stepped in to fill the void in Ayling's absence.

Bielsa described his situation as similar to Junior Firpo's - who was fit enough for a substitute appearance last weekend - which hints he is being evaluated on a day-to-day basis.

Robin Koch - hip

Underwent surgery in the United States in recent weeks to cure his long-standing hip problem.

Koch has only appeared once this season in the Premier League on the opening day at Manchester United.

Bielsa said he was getting close to a return as he steps up his rehab at Thorp Arch behind closed doors.

Crysencio Summerville - unknown

The winger was somewhat an under the radar absentee at Tottenham.

He enjoyed two outings for the Netherlands Under-21s over the international break but was missing from Bielsa's squad despite a young bench against Spurs.

Summerville has been a good squad option for Leeds in recent months. There was no update on his condition post-Spurs.
