The Whites would move level on points with 10th-placed Arsenal with a win over the Blues, and could also bring to an end a run of two straight defeats.

They face a tough task, however, with Chelsea still yet to lose a game under new manager Thomas Tuchel.

A win for the Blues would move them level on points with Leicester City in third.

With that in mind, Bielsa has shuffled his pack a little from Monday night’s 2-0 defeat to West Ham.

Pascal Struijk comes back into the side to partner Diego Llorente at the heart of defence, with Liam Cooper dropping out.

Ezgjan Alioski returns at left-back, allowing Stuart Dallas to push back into midfield. Mateusz Klich is on the bench.

Jack Harrison is also given a run out – Helder Costa has to make do with a spot among the substitutes.

Summer signing Robin Koch is back in the match day squad as well.
