United are approaching their final game of the Championship season with promotion as champions already secured with Leeds finally ending a 16-year exile from the country's top flight in the ultimate style.

The Whites will be handed the Championship winners trophy this evening but not before taking on the fourth-bottom Addicks and Roberts says his men again want to show why they have been crowned champions of the second tier.

Leeds were already promoted as champions before Sunday's penultimate game of the season at Derby County after second-placed West Brom's defeat at Huddersfield Town on Friday was followed by another reverse for third placed Brentford at Stoke City the following day.

Whites head coach Marcelo Bielsa then made seven changes to his side for Sunday's clash at Pride Park but Leeds produced a fine performance to recover from trailing 1-0 to record a 3-1 victory.

Bielsa has now said he will field his strongest available side for Wednesday night's clash against relegation-battling Charlton and Roberts says his champions are determined to sign off in style.

"Of course we've had a little celebration and we've enjoyed the result after West Brom and the fact that we are going up and we are champions but there's still games of football to play," said Roberts, speaking to LUTV.

"We don't want to be champions and be getting beat.

"We want to keep that standard and show that we are the best team in the league in every game and that goes all the way until Wednesday."

Assessing the prospect of lifting the Championship trophy, Roberts said: "That will be a special occasion of course.

"I'm looking forward to it but also we don't want to lose the game and be with the trophy.

"We want to still win the game so we are all in high spirits and then the job's done."
