Championship front-runners Leeds finally have a date to aim for with the EFL setting the weekend of June 20 as a provisional date for their season to return.

United have not played since the 2-0 win at home to Huddersfield Town on March 7 with the English football season then becoming suspended later that month due to the country's battle against coronavirus.

But the Whites have been back in small group training at Thorp Arch for over a week and 21-year-old forward Roberts knows the magnitude of even a second-placed finish would mean to the Whites, their supporters and the city of Leeds.

Marcelo Bielsa's side lead the division by a point with West Brom back in second but whilst definitely gunning for the title, Roberts knows it is United's seven-point cushion in the automatic promotion spots that matters most.

Fulham - who are still yet to visit Elland Road for this season's league tie - are seven points behind Leeds in third with nine games left.

Speaking in United’s ‘Ask’ series in association with Deliveroo, Roberts was asked what it would mean to win the Championship with Leeds and said: "It would mean so much.

"Winning a Championship is obviously a massive thing but just to get promoted and get Leeds United back into the Premier League.

"It would be a massive thing in my trophy cabinet and for the city really.

"The fans are so passionate and stuff and I know all the hard work that the boys have put in and the staff have put in.

"It would mean a lot for a lot of different reasons."

Asked where he saw his career being in five years' time, Wales international Roberts said: "I'd like to be at the top of the Premier League in five years' time.

"I think that's a goal that probably me and a lot of people have and I believe that it's achievable."
