United's 2021-22 Premier League campaign will begin with a clash against arch rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford in a lunch-time kick-off on Saturday, August 14.

Talks intensify to sign Brazilian forward
Brazilian outlet UOL claim that talks are intensifying for Leeds United to sign 22-year-old Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Hertha Berlin.
UOL claim that Leeds will make an 'extra effort' to sign Cunha at Whites head coach Marcelo Bielsa s request and quote a price of between 25 and 30 million euros.
Hertha Berlin signed Cunha from RB Leipzig in 2020 and the Brazilian is contracted at the club until 2025.
Cunha has been capped 16 times by Brazil's under-23s - scoring 15 goals - and he is on the squad list for the side set to compete at this summer's Olympics.

Nahitan Nandez update
Leeds have been linked with a move for Uruguay international midfielder Nahitan Nandez and his agent, Pablo Bentancurm has provided an update as to the Cagliari Calcio midfielder’s future. Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, he said: “It is very likely that Nandez will leave Cagliari. It is ready for a big one. We have had many contacts. The market, however, is a bit slow due to Covid. In England someone asked for information, as well as in Italy. We are working”.
New left back name emerges - reports
Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Leeds United are the latest team to join the hunt to sign Barcelona full back Junior Firpo. West Ham, Southampton, AC Milan and Inter Milan are also reportedly interested in the 24-year-old left back whose Barca contract runs until 2024. Firpo was linked with both Napoli and Fiorentina last year and Barcelona could accept a loan move for the left back with a compulsory purchase option. Firpo was born in Santo Domingo of Dominican Republic and has played four times for Spain’s under-21s. Firpo has made 42 outings or Barcelona who signed the full back from Real Betis in 2019.
