Leeds United forward Rodrigo looks set to hand Marcelo Bielsa s first team squad a major boost at West Ham United.

The Spain international was back in competitive action on Friday afternoon for the club's development side after picking up a groin injury in January at Leicester City.

The Whites senior squad travel to face the Hammers on Monday Night Football in the top flight looking to return to winning ways.

United have been hit by a number of injuries in recent months and the 30-year-old's absence has handed playmaker Tyler Roberts an opportunity for a run of games in the Premier League.

Bielsa, though, appears to now have a decision to make at the London Stadium with Rodrigo back available for selection once again and he has hinted he will be involved.

"Great feeling getting some minutes with the Under-23s today," Rodrigo wrote on his personal Instagram. "Totally focused on Monday against West Ham."

Gaetano Berardi also stepped up his comeback from a torn ACL for the Under-23s while Ian Poveda picked up minutes following an ankle injury.

Influential midfielder Kalvin Phillips and utility player Jamie Shackleton look set to be sidelined for the trip to the capital and Leeds face a wait over the fitness of Pascal Struijk.

Long-term absentee Robin Koch returned to training earlier this week but the Hammers clash will come too soon for the German international.
