Leeds and Brentford will lock horns for the second time in just over three months on Saturday afternoon as both clubs take in their sixth game of the new Premier League season in West London.

The Bees would have relegated Leeds had they beaten the Whites in May's last game of the season at the Brentford Community Stadium but a 2-1 victory for United secured their top-flight status as Jesse Marsch's side survived at Burnley's expense.

Just over three months on, United sit seventh in the very early Premier League table, two points and four positions above 11th-placed Brentford.

Bees boss Frank says he has been particularly impressed by Whites wingers Luis Sinisterra and Jack Harrison and confessed to enjoying seeing the "massive" Whites being in the Premier League but is upbeat about his own side's prospects following change at Brentford in the summer.

“I respect Leeds as a massive club; one of the biggest in England,” said Frank at his pre-match press conference, as quoted by Brentford's official website.

"I am pleased they are in the Premier League.

"Jesse Marsch, together with his staff, have got a good start together.

“They look very intense. I am pleased they are in the Premier League.

"On numbers, they play with the biggest intensity. Their high-press numbers are the highest. It’s going to be a very intense battle, which we’re ready for and looking forward to. I think it’s going to be a good game to watch.

“They look very, very dangerous going forward with their front four. Harrison has been really impressive. Sinisterra as well.

"Let’s see if it’s (Patrick) Bamford and (Joe) Gelhardt who will play, we don’t know, but they look impressive going forward.”

Frank's Bees have amassed six points so far this season - two less than Leeds - and the hosts approach Saturday's contest on the back of consecutive 1-1 draws at home to Everton and away at Crystal Palace.

Comparing the Brentford side that Leeds faces in May to the one they will come up against this weekend, Frank reasoned: “I think we have a stronger squad compared to back then.

“Josh Dasilva is back. We’ve added Aaron Hickey, Keane Lewis-Potter and [Mikkel] Damsgaard – three players who add something to the squad, whether you’re talking about the starting XI or the first 15.

“I think it’s been a good start. We’ve scored nine goals, which is a good amount of goals compared to the league average. We look like a threat when we go forward and that’s massively important if you want to win football matches. We need to keep that up.

“The last game was a step forward in terms of defending as a team; we gave very little away. It took a bit of brilliance from a world-class player in [Wilfried] Zaha for them to score the goal. For me, it’s about keeping consistency in our performances.”
