Arteta will pit his wits against the more experienced man on Sunday at The Emirates and attempt to earn a win that would allow the Gunners to leapfrog the newly promoted side.

The 38-year-old, a 'great coach' in Bielsa's words, admires the way Leeds carry out the instructions given to them by the Argentine.

Arsenal have twice tasted what it's like to play against Bielsa's Whites, in a 1-0 FA Cup win last year when Leeds were a Championship side, and in the 0-0 draw at Elland Road earlier this season. Arteta's men were dominated for large parts of both games.

Going into a third meeting, Leeds sit one place and one point ahead of Sunday's hosts, having played one game fewer. They should be sitting higher, Arteta believes.

"Well, they are a really brave dynamic and attacking side," he said.

"I think they are a really exciting side. A great coach, a great coaching staff that they are all involved and a bunch of players that they believe 100 per cent in what they do. They just go every game with the same energy and enthusiasm to go and get the points and I think they deserve more points in the table than what they have at the moment.

"When you look at a lot of the games that they lost, how they lost them it’s been incredible because in my opinion they haven’t deserved. They’ve been really punished on set pieces as well which is one key area there. But overall what they produce in open play compared to the opponents it’s difficult to see games when they have produced less than the opponent."

The Premier League audience has is getting to know Bielsa in the same way fans and pundits did in the Championship. The same fascination with Bielsa's ways, including his famous 'murderball' sessions has hit the top flight this season.

"I heard about it. I’ve seen it," said Arteta, who is attempting to glean ideas from coaches like Bielsa who have vast reserves of experience to drawn upon.

"Marcelo has got some incredible methods. You just have to see the way the team plays and some of the things the teams do constantly, some habits that they have that they implement throughout the game with such a conviction. So it’s a lot of things young coaches like me, young coaches like me can learn from people who have been a long time in the game and been really successful.

"I'm not a disciple because I don’t know him that well. Pep [Guardiola] knows him much better than I do. But you try to learn, pick up things that you like from other teams, interested on how they develop their teams, their ethos and their way of playing and for sure Marcelo has a lot of positive things to look at."
