Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo says Leeds United 'will require the best of us' amid high praise for opposite number Marcelo Bielsa.

The Whites travel to Molineux on Friday evening for a Premier League clash under the lights in the Midlands.

Leeds sit 11th ahead of the meeting and are just one place and two points in front of their hosts ahead of kick-off.

Bielsa saw his side beaten 4-2 at Arsenal last weekend while Wanderers were victorious at Southampton.

Nuno - who will be without Willy Boly, Daniel Podence and long-term absentee Raul Jimenez for the encounter - believes Leeds will offer a stern test of his side's abilities.

“Leeds are a very good team, very special and unique in the way they approach the games," Nuno said.

"They have a fantastic squad, a very good manager (Marcelo Bielsa) and we realise they are very competitive. It will require the best of us.”

Wolves are enduring an inconsistent campaign after reaching the quarter-finals of the Europa League last season.

Nuno's side have failed to claim back-to-back victories in the league since October and have earned just six clean sheets so far this term.

The 47-year-old lamented his side's inconsistency in his pre-match press conference, insisting that they must improve their standards.

“It’s very concerning, we are always trying to improve and reach our best performances," Nuno added.

"We want to be good and consistent and work hard to achieve that. We are lacking a lot of the things we are trying to search for in the games.

“We go match-by-match, we have a new challenge and a very difficult challenge, this will always be our philosophy.

“We always face a situation where we assume we have to improve and cannot say when we are going to reach the best. There is never the best, there are always new things.

“Our approach is improving match after match. We have to improve some aspects of our defensive organisation, there are still a lot of mistakes which we want to avoid."
