Both sides have achieved great things over the years, and even after a 16-year absence from the top flight, the world is sure to be watching when the Whites host the Gunners on Sunday afternoon.
Ahead of that clash, we’ve dusted off the history books to make a starting XI of players who have turned out for both clubs.

1. John Lukic
A hero for both clubs, Lukic spent his career at Leeds United and Arsenal, winning a first division title with both. The stopper clocked up over 650 appearances in a hugely successful career. (Photo by Mike King/Allsport/Getty Images) Photo: Getty Images
2. Luke Ayling
The Leeds full-back actually started his career at Arsenal, but never quite made the grade in north London. His only first team call-up came in a Champions League group stage defeat to Olympiacos, but Ayling was an unused substitute in that game and left the club for Yeovil Town in 2010. 3. Chris Whyte
Whyte had lengthy spells with both Leeds and Arsenal, and was a towering presence at the heart of defence during the Whites' 1992 title win. Bizarrely, he spent a considerable portion of his career playing in the Major Indoor Soccer League in the USA. (Photo by Nick Potts/Allsport/Getty Images) Photo: Getty Images
4. David O'Leary
The former Elland Road boss spent the vast majority of his career in North London, but had time for a brief stint in Yorkshire before hanging up his boots for good. Of course, he'd stay on at Leeds as George Graham's assistant, and was eventually promoted to the top job himself. (Photo credit: Phil Cole/ALLSPORT) Photo: Phil Cole
5. Jason Crowe
Crowe had a pretty miserable time of it at Arsenal. The right-back always faced an uphill battle displacing Lee Dixon in the first team picture, but his cause was hardly helped when he was shown a straight red card on his debut. In total, he would amass just three appearances for the Gunners. He managed two, injury-blighted years at Elland Road before being released by Simon Grayson in 2011. 6. Jermaine Pennant
Pennant scored a hat-trick on his full league debut for Arsenal in 2003, and at one point was justifiably regarded as one of the brightest young talents in English football. The winger spent a season on loan at Elland Road just prior to Leeds' relegation from the top flight, playing 36 times. Spells at Birmingham City, Liverpool, and Stoke City followed, but he never truly managed to realise his massive potential. (Photo by Jamie McDonald/Getty Images) Photo: Jamie McDonald
