Scott McTominay’s brace inside the opening three minutes, plus goals from Bruno Fernandes and Victor Lindelof, exposed the Whites in the first half.

The second half resembled a basketball game but further goals from Dan James and Fernandes cancelled out Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas’ efforts to inflict a heavy defeat on Leeds.

Kalvin Phillips was hooked off at half-time but was defended by Micah Richards on Match of the Day 2.

Indeed, the former Manchester City defender believes Phillips’ cause wasn’t helped by his teammates, while Dublin questioned Bielsa tactics at Old Trafford.

Richards said: “You see the space here. Phillips, who I am a big admirer of, got left alone today. He had no help from his teammates and look at the space there for McTominay to run through.

“It kept happening, and happening and happening throughout the game. It’s like they didn’t learn from the mistakes.

"We all want Leeds to play expansive football because it’s brilliant.

“(Fernandes is) dragging Phillips all over the place but that’s what he has been told to do. He’s been told to go man to man but look at the space in the middle of the pitch.

"Against anyone who is having a good day will get exposed and Man United really did this.”

Dublin added: "They went man for man… Ole knew this was going to happen.

"He knew to put Bruno in areas where he wasn’t going to hurt Leeds but other players in behind him were going to hurt Leeds.

"I don’t know how many times, if you’re going to get hurt once, twice, three times – surely you’d change your game plan? Not Bielsa.

"He allowed this to happen and Manchester United said ‘okay, fair enough, we’ve worked on this on the training ground.”

Meanwhile, Leeds are waiting to hear the extent of Cooper’s injury after he limped off in the 72nd minute.

Bielsa also confirmed summer signing Diego Llorente will return to training today ahead of hosting Burnley on Sunday.
