A thriving striker continued his fantastic recent run as Leeds United’s youngsters embarked on a new competition with a thrilling victory.

Hide AdUnited’s under-21s are one of 16 Premier League 2 teams competing in this season’s first ever National League Cup which sees National League sides host Premier League and EFL under-21s teams at their own grounds.
Leeds took in their first game in the new competition on Tuesday evening at Boston United and the young Whites left with a 4-3 success in which Luca Thomas took his recent tally to seven goals from his last five games.
Thomas, 20, lined up having scored in every appearance so far this season and having netted a brace in the weekend’s 3-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur’s under-21s.

Hide AdAnother double followed at Boston, Thomas completing a brace with his winning goal in the 86th minute to eventually put away Boston who had led three times.
Harvey Vincent, Thomas and Alfie Cresswell had all hit back to equalise before Leeds eventually recorded a thrilling victory by the odd goal in seven.
