Hasenhuttl had six first-team players out injured for Saturday's fixture at home to Chelsea in which the Saints finally exited a club record run of six successive Premier League defeats through a 1-1 draw.

Scotland international midfielder Stuart Armstrong was among those forced to miss the contest but Hasenhuttl is hoping to have the 28-year-old back for the trip to Elland Road.

Asked how bad the injury to Armstrong was, Hasenhuttl told the Southern Daily Echo: "No, nothing serious. For a few days he was out. He can be an option for Tuesday against Leeds.

"We will have a look at him."

Kyle Walker-Peters, Ibra Diallo, Theo Walcott, Michael Obafemi and Will Smallbone all remain out.
