WEST BROM boss Slaven Bilic has labelled Leeds United as a "giant" of a football club with a special connection to its region and city.

Bilic's Baggies and Marcelo Bielsa's Whites occupy the two automatic promotion positions in the Championship with the season remaining suspended due to the current global fight against coronavirus.

Speaking in an interview with Croatian outlet 24 Sata, Bilic served up special praise for one-club city Leeds, mentioning the Whites in the same breath as Napoli of Naples and Croatian side Hajduk Split where Bilic began his career.

“There are clubs that mean a lot to the city and the region, and Hajduk is something more," said Bilic.

"There are clubs like this, but Hajduk is a way of life. It’s Napoli, it’s Leeds, I felt it, it’s the giants."
