The Whites travelled to the capital and were in Premier League 2 action for the first time since securing the title and promotion to the top flight of England's academy structure.

Head coach Mark Jackson opted to hand starts to forward Greenwood and wide man Crysencio Summerville - after both had been included in Marcelo Bielsa's senior squad against Manchester United just 24 hours earlier.

It was Fulham who had the opening chance of the game just 40 seconds into the contest but Elia Caprile's legs came to the rescue.

Leeds made the hosts pay two minutes later as Greenwood turned and drilled home from a tight angle at a corner to open the scoring and reach double figures in the league.

The Whites pushed on and former Cottagers academy product Cody Drameh tested George Wickens twice from range.

Summerville also went close and Greenwood dragged a wonderful chance to add to the scoreline wide from inside the box before the interval.

George McAvoy, though, levelled for the hosts from a corner ball as he lost his marker to power home a header against the run of play.

Jackson opted to make three changes at the half-time break as Greenwood, Summerville and Jamie Shackleton departed.

The substitutions altered the momentum of the contest - with Leeds calling on the younger element of their travelling contingent.

A strong first half for the visitors was followed by a dominant second for Fulham, who looked the more likely to notch a winner.

Caprile was forced into a succession of low saves and tipped an effort onto the post from distance to keep the score level.

The 19-year-old stopper then halted another Cottagers break late on with his legs, before the follow-up from substitute Jean-Pierre Tiehi struck the bar.

For all the home side's pressure, Leeds withheld and almost stole the points themselves in added time.

Niall Huggins found Max Dean inside the area on the left but the striker saw his curling effort beaten away and the Whites had to settle for a share of the spoils.
