Salford City 5-3 Leeds United U21s - recap: Whites exit EFL Trophy in thriller
The Whites make the short trip to Moor Lane in Group B knowing that picking up points this evening will put pressure on Oldham Athletic, who will play out their final group game against Tranmere Rovers next week.
Leeds head into tonight's fixture third on goal difference alone behind the second-placed Latics - who they beat 3-2 in a thriller at Boundary Park last month.

Hide AdSalford remain bottom of the group, having lost both of their games in the tournament so far while Tranmere are top with six points.
Defeat would see Leeds exit the competition while an 8-0 victory would see them progress - picking up any form of points would require Oldham to fail to match United's result when they take on Tranmere next week.

- RESULT - Salford City 5-3 Leeds United
Salford attack
53. City take a quick attack. Thomas-Asante is in again but he fires into the side netting from a tight angle.
LEEDS CHANCE
55. Chance... great move from Leeds as they work it back to front. Miller prods a ball to McGurk on the edge of the area and he fires at the goalkeeper. Moore then forces Ripley into a great save from the corner.
SALFORD CHANCE
58. Leeds survive... somehow. Van den Heuvel saves. The ball pings around. Salford hit the bar. Bodies are flying... might’ve been a Miller handball in there. Cleared behind.
Salford get a fourth
60. It’s so simple for City... corner comes in and Thomas-Asante loses his man. He heads home. 4-2.
Mullen booked
62. Salford come forward... Mullen flies into a challenge and completely misses the ball. Yellow card. Kenneh defends well from the resulting free-kick.
Salford taking control
64. Leeds started the half well but City have started to really control things now. They have the two-goal cushion to sit on and United are doing a lot of chasing across the pitch.
SALFORD CHANCE
66. City come forward. They’re pushing Leeds back. A shot is hit from the far side... it deflects just past the far post.
