Robin Koch looks on as Leeds United defender's Euros hopes hit lift off

LEEDS United defender Robin Koch stayed on the bench as Germany's Euros hopes hit lift off against Portugal in Saturday evening's Group F fixture in Munich.

Koch was an unused substitute as Joachim Low's side began their Euros with Tuesday's 1-0 defeat to France in the 'Group of death'.

But France were then held to a 1-1 draw against Hungary in Saturday's 2pm kick-off and Germany stormed to a 4-2 success against Portugal in the day's 5pm encounter in Munich.

Koch once again stayed on the bench as own goals from Ruben Dias and Raphael Guerreiro together with strikes from Kai Havertz and Robin Gosens gave the German's victory.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Diogo Jota were on target for Portugal who beat Hungary 3-0 in their first game.

Germany's final group game is against Hungary in Munich on Wednesday night (kick-off 8pm).

Group leaders France take on Portugal in Budapest at the same time.

The top two teams from each group go through to the last 16 along with the four best third-placed sides.
