Reports suggest Leeds United's forthcoming clash against Southampton could be postponed

Leeds are due to take on the Saints at Elland Road on Wednesday, January 20 but Southampton's third round FA Cup clash at home to Shrewsbury could be saved and re-arranged for the same date.

The FA Cup encounter between the Saints and Shrews was due to take place at the weekend but was called off following a major coronavirus outbreak at the League One club.

There are now reports of discussions taking place about the game being staged next midweek which would mean postponing Leeds' game against the Saints.

The Whites are back in Premier League action this coming Saturday at home to Brighton.

If the Saints game is postponed, United's next league game as things stand would then be the away clash at Newcastle United on Tuesday, January 26.
