An updated broadcast list of matches will be announced later today with the five matches per round not already selected being made available to supporters on a pay-per-view basis on the Box Office platforms on BT Sport or Sky Sports.

That effectively means that Leeds United's clash at Aston Villa scheduled for Saturday, October 24 will be pay per view.

Fans have been forbidden from cheering on their teams inside stadiums since March due to the country's long ongoing battle against coronavirus and associated social distancing measures.

With games still being played in empty grounds behind closed doors, every Premier League so far has been screened live on either Sky Sports or BT Sports.

Both channels have already announced which games they will be showing live for the rest of the month with United's home clash against Wolves on Monday, October 19 and Elland Road encounter against Leicester City which is on Monday, November 2 both live on Sky Sports.

But United's fixture at Aston Villa on Saturday, October 24 was not selected for live broadcast and a Premier League statement released on Friday afternoon effectively confirmed that the game will be screened live but via pay per view.

The statement read: "The Premier League today confirmed all fixtures until the end of October will continue to be made available to fans to watch live in the UK.

"Under these new arrangements, the current live match selections will remain in place and will be broadcast as normal.

"In addition, the five matches per round not already selected will be made available to supporters on a pay-per-view basis, accessed via BT Sport Box Office and Sky Sports Box Office platforms.

"Clubs today agreed this interim solution to enable all fans to continue to watch their teams live.

"The Premier League has worked closely with Sky Sports and BT Sport to provide this arrangement and is grateful for their support.

"The agreement will be regularly reviewed in consultation with clubs and in line with any decisions made by Government regarding the return of spectators to stadiums.

"Football is not the same without supporters at matches.

"The Premier League and our clubs remain committed to the safe return of fans as soon as possible.

"An updated broadcast list of matches will be announced later today."
