Head coach Marcelo Bielsa was still without four key first team players for last weekend's clash at Everton for which Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford, Liam Cooper and Junior Firpo were all missing in addition to young forward Sam Greenwood.
But Bielsa had said at his pre-match press conference that left back Firpo would return from a hamstring injury the following week.
In Firpo's absence, the versatile Stuart Dallas lined up to the left side of a Whites back three against the Toffees but the Northern Ireland international star was forced off injured in the ninth minute.
Dallas was replaced by hugely promising 18-year-old defender Leo Hjelde who then picked up an injury in second-half stoppage time and was unable to continue.
That left Leeds with over half a team out injured again and Phillips and Cooper are not expected to return from their hamstring injuries until March whilst the picture remains unclear with Bamford due to his foot problem.
Leeds will be looking to bounce back from a hugely disappointing 3-0 defeat at Everton against the Red Devils and this is how we think Bielsa's side will line up.
7. CM - Adam Forshaw
Forshaw replaced Klich during the interval at Goodison Park and was in fantastic form prior to picking up a minor hamstring injury. There's surely a good chance that Forshaw will now start although Dallas in midfield is another option, as is Klich.
8. RW - Raphinha
United's Brazilian star winger was surprisingly taken off at the break against Everton but Bielsa has admitted before that he is Leeds' best player and Raphinha will be targeting a return to his brilliant best down the right wing.
9. LW - Jack Harrison
Harrison was nominated for the January player of the month award and will be eyeing a return to those heights. Dan James is the other main option on the left wing but continues to be used elsewhere.
10. ACM - Rodrigo
The record signing was probably United's best player in an extremely disappointing defeat at Everton, the Spaniard very unlucky to see two fine efforts smack back off the crossbar. Looks certain to start at no 10.
11. ST - Dan James
James has been Bielsa's choice upfront of late in the absence of Bamford and that looks set to continue against the Welsh international's former side. Tyler Roberts appears next option at present followed by young teenage star Joe Gelhardt.
