After some outstanding goalkeeping from both Illan Meslier and Aaron Ramsdale, Patrick Bamford headed home a Jack Harrison cross in the 88th minute for the only goal of the game.
Graham Smyth, the YEP's chief football writer, hands out the scores.
7. Mateusz Klich
7 - His influence on the game grew as it went on and opened up. Tireless, had the energy to keep getting back to defend and still attacked late on.

8. Helder Costa
7 - Dangerous running at the Blades but not as incisive as in the first two games. Still looks an improvement on last season.

9. Jack Harrison
8 - Energy to burn, even in the final stages. Gave Leeds a real threat down the left but got up and down the pitch to do both sides of the game.

10. Tyler Roberts
6 - Unable to do the linking up that Hernandez does, had little impact on the game, seemed to struggle to best his markers physically.

11. Patrick Bamford
8 - Led the line well, battled defenders, found space, attacked balls into the box and took his goal well. A man in fine form.

12. Rodrigo
7 - His best showing for Leeds so far. Looked sharp, linked up the play, always wanted the ball and played a part in the goal.
