Peterborough United 0-3 Leeds United highlights: Bamford stunner steals Ampadu headlines in FA Cup win

The Whites' recent record in this competition has not made for pleasant reading, particularly against lower league opponents. This afternoon's opposition are third in the League One table, one division below the Elland Road club, and will be keen to defeat Farke's men to progress to the next round.
Led by Darren Ferguson, son of former Manchester United boss Sir Alex, 'Posh' are unbeaten in their last ten outings across all competitions, while their most recent defeat in the league came in early November, proving today's contest will be no Sunday afternoon walk-in-the-park.

Hide AdFarke is expected to make changes to his starting XI, although third-choice goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson will remain in the starting line-up as Illan Meslier serves the final match of a three-game suspension picked up on Boxing Day and Karl Darlow begins a seven-week lay-off with a dislocated thumb.
Kick-off at London Road is at 2pm. Build-up, team news, goal and score updates here throughout the day.
Peterborough United vs Leeds United LIVE
No, thanks
52' Firpo done down his flank by Poku. Low cross into the area miskicked by Shackleton but Leeds still manage to clear. P'boro still looking dangerous.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOALLLLLLLLLLLL BAMFORD 2-0
47' That's absolutely ridiculous. Bamford chests down a long ball, spins with it in the air and hits a full volley into the top right-hand corner. That's the Puskas Award wrapped up on day seven of 2024.
Off we go again
46' Second half underway. No changes. Gnonto on a yellow stays on the pitch for now.
HT: P'boro 0-1 Leeds United
Ampadu's goal the difference. Could easily have been a penalty for a trip on Gnonto, as well, but Peterborough have looked tidy and carried a threat, particularly down their left. Shackleton having a tough day.
Stonewaller
41' Leeds penalty appeal & there's a really strong case for it. Gnonto steams onto a loose ball inside the area and tripped by Knight's leg. He goes over, looked to be clear contact. Ref and linesman on the near side exchange glances, nothing more.
39' Gnonto booked after his fourth foul of the afternoon. Needless one to concede, then kicks the ball away, which is what he's cautioned for.
Chance...
37' WIDE! Almost an instant response from P'boro. Free-kick from the left swung in and falls at Kyprianou's feet. Can't direct goalward. Corner kick, which Rodon heads clear for another corner.
GOOOOOOOOOOOALLLLLLL AMPADU 1-0
35' First goal for the club. Anthony dinks the free-kick into Bamford, who has the freedom of the penalty area to chest it down and tee up Ampadu. P'boro really unhappy and feel the kick was taken before the ref's whistle, hence their slow reaction.
Josh Knight also booked for something he said to the referee in the aftermath.
33' Gnonto fouled 25 yards from goal. Jones into the back of him. Leeds get a temporary reprieve from P'boro's resurgence of the last 15 minutes or so.
30' One-two between Piroe and Gray. Latter shoots tamely from the edge of the penalty area. Easily gathered by Talley.
Can't give too many of those away
27' Chance for the hosts. Kyprianou peels off his man and has a free header inside Klaesson's box. Floats it back across goal instead of planting it at the Norwegian and Leeds shepherd out for a goal kick.
Chances
22' Shackleton beaten down his flank by Mason-Clark who cuts inside and shoots. Ampadu on hand to clear the shot. Hosts growing into it now as another attack down the left results in Jones toe-poking wide of Klaesson's goal.
Made of steel
20' Ampadu halts a P'boro attack with a crunching tackle and comes off worse. Goes down clutching his leg. No treatment required for the bionic man.
