Patrick Bamford says Leeds United's squad hold full belief that they can imprint Marcelo Bielsa's style on the Premier League this season.

The Whites head to Anfield on Saturday evening to take on reigning champions Liverpool in their first top flight outing for 16 years.

Bielsa's preparations have been hampered somewhat by last weekend's international break ahead of the toughest of starts on Merseyside.

Leeds, though, have been working hard behind closed doors at Thorp Arch and Elland Road to be ready for this season's curtain raiser with Jurgen Klopp's men.

Club record signing Rodrigo and defender Robin Koch have had their first introductions into life in LS11 this week following their arrival in West Yorkshire while others have also returned from action with their countries.

Bamford - who helped the club to promotion last term with 16 league goals - says that he and his team-mates know exactly what is expected of them ahead of the new season.

"We've been working under Marcelo for two years now," he said.

"We know exactly what is demanded of us and exactly how we want to play.

"For us it is all about trying to do that consistently against a greater level of opposition.

"It will be harder but we feel we can imprint out style on others and I'm sure that's the way we are going to go about it."

Asked about whether Leeds can utilitise momentum following a title-winning campaign amid the short turnaround, he added: "I think it helps in terms of fitness.

"If you have six or seven weeks off it takes longer to get back to the levels you need to be at.

"Hopefully that will help being at the fitness level we need.

"Obviously we'll try and ride the wave [of promotion] which can give us a bit of confidence going into the games.

"For me personally it's pitting myself against the best. Testing myself and seeing what I can do."
