United were not helped by a freakish Helder Costa own goal or a bizarre VAR call that denied a Patrick Bamford strike but Scott Dann, Eberechi Eze and Jordan Ayew were also all on target for Roy Hodgson's Eagles who moved sixth.
Graham Smyth, the YEP's chief football writer, hands out the scores.
7. Stuart Dallas
6 - Got up and down the pitch, not quite as neat and tidy with the ball as he can be and found Eze a tricky customer, as many do.

8. Mateusz Klich
7 - Tried to do the job of a number 10 as well as playing the box-to-box midfielder role. Unlocked Palace with two touches, looked like Leeds' best attacking threat.

9. Jack Harrison
5 - Picking the wrong option, dallying in possession or uncharacteristically failing to get it under his control led to a poor afternoon for the winger.

10. Helder Costa
5 - Showed a little of his fancy footwork but never really got into a position to hurt Palace or get past the full-back.

11. Patrick Bamford
7 - Took his goal and the one that was chalked off really well but was given precious little else in the way of service after that. Worked hard.

12. Raphinha
7 - Gave Leeds more menace out wide and popped up in the middle, trying to give United something different.
