Pablo Hernandez admits it's points over performances at this stage of the season following Leeds United's 1-0 win over Reading.

The Whites earned all three points at Elland Road thanks to a 57th minute strike from the Spaniard.

United made it back-to-back wins in LS11 in the Championship as they moved five points clear of third-place Fulham.

Leeds dominated much of the afternoon against the Royals but were made to work hard for their win.

Hernandez's strike proved pivotal as did a late save from countryman Kiko Casilla at the other end in the dying seconds from visiting captain Liam Moore.

Marcelo Bielsa's playmaker, though, insists that points are the most important thing with just 12 games of the campaign now to go in the race for promotion to the Premier League.

"It was a difficult game," Hernandez said at the full-time whistle.

"I think we played a good game. We had a lot of chances. It doesn't matter if it is 1-0 or 3-0, the most important thing now is to take three points.

"The victory was very important for us.

"I had two or three chances to score in the first half but the defence broke my shots.

"We knew that if we continue with the same idea and the same football that we would have more chances in the second half.

"I had a bit of luck to score in the first minutes and this goal gave us confidence and gave us the three points.

Asked about the growing confidence in the camp following an upturn in form, he added: "Not just the results, but sometimes in football you win games but you don't feel so good.

"The more important thing now is we win games. The atmosphere here is unbelievable. This is the way.

"In the next two games we have difficult games, but if we play this way we can win every game."
