Leeds United fell to a 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening in Championship action.

Marcelo Bielsa named the same starting line-up that fell to a narrow defeat to Wigan last weekend while new signing Jean-Kevin Augustin was named on the bench for the first time.

It was the hosts who started with the momentum as they were roared on by the home crowd.

Tiago Silva shot from distance as he tested Kiko Casilla twice before Patrick Bamford failed to guide a header on target with a Stuart Dallas cross slightly behind him.

Gjanni Alioski fizzed an effort wide of the woodwork before Forest opened the scoring as Casilla made a costly mistake.

Sammy Ameobi beat his man and drove into the Whites area before unleashing a low shot which beat the goalkeeper at his near post.

United were up against it as Casilla again heaped pressure on the defence as he threw the ball straight to Ben Watson but the hosts skipper failed to make the most of the gift.

The stopper redeemed himself early in the second half as Joe Lolley found Lewis Grabban in the box with the striker losing his man.

He had the freedom of goal but fired into Casilla's legs at the vital moment before Leeds cleared away.

Bielsa opted to swap Pablo Hernandez for Tyler Roberts as Matty Cash went down under a challenge from Alioski inside the box but referee Oliver Langford waved away the appeals.

Augustin and Jamie Shackleton were also introduced as the Whites went in search of an equaliser.

United thought they had one as skipper Liam Cooper broke from his marker at a corner but he could only power his header straight at Brice Samba saved twice clawing the ball off the line to delight of the home crowd.

Helder Costa and Mateusz Klich both went close in the dying minutes but it was Forest who added to the scoreline as Jack Harrison was caught in possession on halfway which allowed substitute Tyler Walker to seal all three points.

Nottingham Forest: Samba, Ribeiro, Figueiredo, Worrall, Grabban, Watson, Cash, Ameobi (Diakhaby 68), Sow, Lolley, Silva (Yates 80). Subs: Muric, Bong, Jenkinson, Dawson, Walker.
