Norman Hunter has died of the coronavirus, aged 76. He was admitted to hospital last week after being diagnosed with covid-19. Renowned for his fighting qualities as a player, he held the disease off until the morning of Friday, April 17. He made 726 appearances for the Elland Road club and formed a formidable partnership with Jack Charlton in the Whites' most successful era.
