Leeds United manager Daniel Farke hosts his pre-match press conference this afternoon ahead of Monday night’s visit to the Riverside Stadium.

Leeds find themselves in something of a must-win situation if they are to keep automatic promotion hopes alive and well on Monday evening. The short trip to Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium will see the Whites take on Michael Carrick’s outfit, whose own chance of promotion via the Championship play-offs appears decidedly slim.

Boro have gone nine games without defeat and will be no pushovers on home turf, though, meaning Leeds will have to be at their best to come away with all three points.

Following defeat to Blackburn Rovers last weekend, Leeds are not thought to have any fresh injury concerns but Farke is expected to provide a timely update on the status of his first-team squad.

Farke on preparation

Each game is important, every point counts. The closer you come to the end, the less chances you have to repair it. We have to concentrate on us and being good in our game and better than the last game. Then we’ll see what the outcome is. The fixture list is a bit crazy during the season but once you’ve worked in the Championship you’ve experienced this several times. It is like it is and right now we have two away games in four days. We want to grind out good results.

Farke on Christopher John

He run through the opponent dugout to protest the penalty decision, sadly he crossed the line, he has to accept he’s not with us in the dugout for this one game.

[Shackleton] not in team training yet, but he will join us tomorrow. Probably the game on Monday comes to soon. Connor Roberts bad news, his muscle showed a reaction after the last game, he will definitely miss the two upcoming away games. Perhaps there’s a chance for him to return for Southampton. We tried to be really careful with him, gave him a few shorter appearances, perhaps last time we were not careful enough last game. He will miss next two games but this is more or less the only bad news. All other players except Pascal Struijk are available.

To keep the nerves and stay cool and focused is obviously an important thing but the quality of the team, the players, also that you have a bit of luck in terms of injuries - all these topics are important.

We’re taking our seats in the media suite. Farke joining shortly.

Just under an hour until we’re joined by Farke. Here’s what’s on the agenda:

- Blackburn fallout

- Reaction in training

- Klaesson’s crash

- Injury situation

- Player availability

- Promotion picture

- Boro
