The EFL season remains suspended amidst the global battle against coronavirus with Forest sat fifth, ten points behind the second-placed Baggies and 11 points adrift of front-runners Leeds.

But with nine games still remaining, 22-year-old Cash still holds hopes of automatic promotion should the season be given the green light to reach a conclusion.

"We have got to take every game as it comes," said Cash, speaking to Sky Sports as part of an 'At Home with Nottingham Forest' feature.

"If you win five in a row and Leeds and West Brom lose a couple then you are right in the frame again.

"Play-offs would be a great achievement from where we've been before. We have been nowhere near in the four or five years I have been here. But if we keep winning games you never know."

Cash's Forest team mate Michael Dawson added: "We have got every chance. You look at Aston Villa last year and I always go on about that. Anything can happen if you are in a good vein of form."
