Writing his weekly - and controversial - predictions column for BBC Sport, the pundit explained: “These are the other two promoted teams and, like West Brom, they both lost last weekend.

“Those results do not really tell the full story, though. Leeds could not really have had a much more positive return to the top flight, despite their defeat at Anfield.

“There's a chance Leeds captain Liam Cooper will be back on Saturday after missing the Liverpool game with a calf injury, and he would obviously improve them defensively.”

He added: “I'm backing Marcelo Bielsa's side to get the win this time, especially because they are playing at Elland Road.”

Lawro went on to back Leeds for a 2-0 victory, while his rival for the weekend, singer and Manchester United fan Raye, predicted a 3-1 scoreline in favour of Bielsa's men.

The Whites played Fulham behind closed doors in the Championship in July and ran out as 3-0 winners at Elland Road. Patrick Bamford, Gjanni Alioski and Jack Harrison were on the scoresheet.

Leeds, of course, went on to lift the Championship title as Fulham gained promotion via the play-offs after beating Brentford at Wembley.
