Mark Lawrenson backs Leeds United to 'start firing again' and reveals Fulham scoreline prediction
Leeds United will look to return to winning ways this evening, when they take on Scott Parker's relegation-battling Fulham at Craven Cottage.
In his weekly predictions column for BBC Sport, pundit and broadcaster Mark Lawrenson gave his scoreline tip for the game, and backed Marcelo Bielsa's side to grab a 2-0 win away from home.
Explaining his choice, Lawro stated: “Leeds haven't won - or scored - for a little while now, three games to be exact, which is very unlike them. That's why I worry for Fulham a bit here, despite Scott Parker's side being in much better form.
“When these two sides met at Elland Road back in September, we were finding out what Leeds were like in the top flight - they won 4-3, after losing to Liverpool by the same scoreline the previous weekend.
“Fulham were like a different side then, and leaked a lot of goals. They have tightened up a lot since then, but I am expecting Leeds to start firing again here.”
A win for the Whites could see them leapfrog Crystal Palace into 11th place, as they look to close the gap on the top half of the table and finish a strong 2020/21 season on a high.
Speaking ahead of the game, Parker claimed: "We're a different team, a different animal this time. We've developed over that period and it's a different side. Can we take things from that game and other games? Of course we can. We've moved on from where we were."
